Love After Life walkthrough
Clear the graveyard perimeter first, find Elenora before the main objective, click the chest after Act 2 begins, and keep a manual save. The 1.2.1 patch fixed this stage's soft lock.

Love After Life is the first of the two Fall Update requests and the spookier of the pair. The premise is one line in the patch notes and a whole stage in practice: love conquers all, or so they say — this might have been romantic if it were not set in a graveyard. What you get is a night-time cemetery in Plumville with mourners, candles, a chapel and a lot of objects tucked between headstones.
It is also the newest content in the game, which changes how you should read any guide to it. The stage shipped on 1 October 2026 as part of the Fall Update and arrived on Steam as build 1.2.0 on 12 October; 1.2.1 followed on 15 October with fixes specific to this map. Anything written before that date is describing a build that had a soft lock in it.
Where it sits in the story
Love After Life unlocks after Smoothie Showdown — the Fall Update announcement says so directly, in the same line that lists the two new stages. That makes it late-game content rather than a side dish, and it explains the 9.6% completion rate on Steam: most players simply have not reached the graveyard yet.
The stage runs in two acts. The patch notes refer to Act 2 by name, and 1.2.1 added optional dialogue for Ducky and Mei during that second act — a detail worth knowing, because the extra lines sit inside it and are easy to walk past. That detail matters for completionists: the new dialogue is optional, it sits inside Act 2, and it is easy to walk past if you are focused on the object list.
What the stage is made of
- A graveyard at night. Headstones, fences, a fountain, candles and lanterns. The scene is dense with small props, and the lighting means some objects sit in near-darkness — the brightness and contrast sliders in the options menu are genuinely useful here.
- A chest. The chest is interactable and, since 1.2.1, carries optional dialogue. If you played the stage on 1.2.0, that interaction did nothing.
- A collab quest. Elenora Von Matterhorn, a guest character from Conquest Tactics: Realm of Sin, arrives to pay respects to fallen comrades in a Grimstone Grave in Plumville and needs help locating them. Finishing her quest line grants the "Princess of Valoria" furniture set for Ducky's Room.
- An Instapix moment. The photo feed entry for this stage was redrawn in 1.2.1, so screenshots of the old art no longer match.
A route through the graveyard
- Read the Act 1 dialogue completely before moving. The client's wording reappears in the object descriptions, and the stage uses the night lighting to hide things you would otherwise spot instantly in daylight.
- Sweep the perimeter first. The key art shows a fence line around the graves, and boundaries are where small objects sit in this game. Walk the edge before you go inward.
- Check the bases of the stones. Not the faces — objects lean against the bases and sit behind them.
- Work inward from the open area. The open ground is easy and fast; the tighter, more furnished part of the map is where the dialogue beats happen, and dialogue beats can close off optional interactions.
- Find Elenora before you finish the main objective. Her quest line lives inside this stage, and the reward is a furniture set rather than an object — easy to forget if you are only watching the To-do list.
- Come back for the chest. The chest's optional dialogue was added in 1.2.1, so it is not part of the original objective flow.
The two-act structure, as a checklist
| Beat | What to do | Why it is easy to miss |
|---|---|---|
| Act 1 objectives | Clear the main item and the secondary objects | Standard sweep |
| Act 2 start | Continue the dialogue with Ducky and Mei | Optional lines added in 1.2.1 |
| Chest dialogue | Click the chest after Act 2 begins | Did nothing before 1.2.1 |
| Elenora's quest | Locate her fallen comrades | Reward is furniture, not an object |
| Instapix | Take the photo | Art updated in 1.2.1 |
| Soft-lock check | Save before re-entering the stage | Fixed in 1.2.1, not in 1.2.0 |
The soft lock, and why version matters
Patch 1.2.1 lists a fixed stage soft lock in Love After Life, along with typo fixes and "various community-reported bugs". A soft lock means the stage stops responding to the thing you need to do next — not a crash, but a dead end that forces a reload.
If you are on 1.2.1, the fix is already applied. If you are on 1.2.0 or have an old save that was created mid-stage, keep a manual save before entering and avoid re-entering the stage in the middle of an objective chain. The same patch also fixed save-state transforms (scale and rotation) not being applied to objects, which affected decorated rooms rather than the stage itself.
This is the general rule for the Fall Update pair: the 1.2.0 build is three days older and measurably rougher. There is no reason to play it.
What the stage rewards
Clearing Love After Life to 100% gives the standard package — achievement, Plum Coins, a thank-you mail — plus the Princess of Valoria set if you finish Elenora's quest line. The set is one of three collab furniture sets added in the Fall Update; the others come from Fangtastic Feast and from spotting a mystery guest four times across Plumville.
If you are working through the pair in order, the next page is Fangtastic Feast. For the collab structure as a whole, read Collabs and events; for the patch timeline that produced this stage, see Patch notes.
