The Morning Madness sock hunt
The last sock is usually in the secret agent room reached through the dog house, the tomato plants by the open gate, the green plant in the green-bedroom, or the duck plush on the pink bed.

The sock hunt in The Morning Madness is the single most-asked question on the game's Steam forum. Not because the stage is hard, but because the last sock is almost always in a place that does not look like a hiding spot: inside a plant, under a plush toy, or in a room you did not realise was a room.
This page collects the spots players have reported, explains why the objective stalls with one sock left, and gives a sweep order that finds the stragglers without spending hints.
What the objective is
The Morning Madness is a house-shaped request: a two-storey home, a family that needs to get ready, and a sock collection spread across both floors. The To-do line counts socks as you find them, which makes the stage feel close to finished long before it is.
Community threads describe the same experience in almost identical words — "I found nine, where is the last one" — which tells you the missing sock is usually in one of four places.
The four places the last sock hides
| Floor | Landmark | What to click |
|---|---|---|
| Ground | Secret agent room, reached through the dog house | The room itself — the sock sits inside it, not on the dog |
| Ground | Tomato plants beside the open gate | The plants, not the gate |
| Upper | Bedroom with the green bed | The green plant in the corner of the room |
| Upper | Bedroom with the pink bed | The duck plush sitting on the bed |
These four cover the overwhelming majority of "last sock" reports in the Steam thread. They are also a good illustration of how this game hides things: three of the four are objects that are themselves containers (a plant, a plush, a hidden room), and one is behind a door that does not look like a door.
Why the count feels off by one
The sock objective is tracked through the To-do panel rather than a number in the world, and the line updates when a sock is collected rather than telling you how many remain.
That creates a specific failure mode: you sweep the house, the line looks nearly complete, and you assume the last one is somewhere exotic. Usually it is not. It is in a plant you walked past twice because plants in this game are decoration 95% of the time.
The reliable check is the achievement. The Morning Madness has a "100% completion" achievement like every other stage, and 52.9% of players hold it. If you have the achievement, the socks are done; if you do not, one objective is still open somewhere.
A sweep order that works
- Start on the upper floor. The two bedrooms hold two of the four common stragglers, and the upper floor is smaller, so clearing it first removes half the variables.
- Click every plant. Not just the pots — the leaves. The green-bedroom plant and the tomato plants are both clickable and both hold socks.
- Click every soft toy. The duck plush on the pink bed is the most-reported hiding place on the upper floor. If there are other plushies, click them too.
- Find the dog house. It is the entrance to the secret agent room, and the room is a genuine hidden area rather than a cupboard. If you have not been inside it, you are missing a sock.
- Do the ground floor last. Tomato plants by the open gate, then the rest of the ground floor furniture.
- Sweep for Juju as you go. The Morning Madness is a dense stage; the grey ghosts are easier to spot here than in the garden stages, and the hints you collect can cover a later request.
What to do if you are still stuck
Four options, in order of cost:
- Re-check the four landmarks above. They account for most reports, and the most common reason a player misses one is that they clicked the container's frame rather than its contents.
- Walk the house edge to edge. Socks in this stage sit against walls, under furniture and on top of things. A perimeter lap on each floor catches the ones that are visible but not obvious.
- Spend one Juju hint. One, not three. The hint marks a zone; search that zone by hand before spending again.
- Leave and come back. The stage keeps your progress. A fresh pass after another request is genuinely better at spotting the odd object than a fifth loop of the same room.
Does the sock hunt matter for anything else?
Re-entering the house keeps your progress, so a second sweep is cheap. But there is no sock-specific achievement, no collectible log and no reward beyond the request's own completion. The socks are an objective inside The Morning Madness, and finishing them contributes to that stage's 100% achievement and nothing else.
That is worth saying because the search terms around this stage imply a collectible system — "all socks", "sock locations", "missing sock". There is no all-socks system. There is one request with a laundry problem.
