Ten tips that save you hours
Sweep the edges first, click every grey object that wobbles, finish optional objectives before the main one, take one hint then search by hand, and turn the brightness up for the graveyard stage.

Ten things that make Lost and Found Co. faster, and none of them involve a guide to a specific object. These are habits and settings — the stuff that separates a twenty-minute stage from a forty-minute one. Each tip is one action you can take in the next five minutes.
1. Sweep the edges before you touch a drawer
Illustrators put small objects where the composition gets quiet: skirting boards, doorframes, window sills, the tops of wardrobes, the corners of rugs. A perimeter lap takes about forty seconds and usually clears a third of the secondary objectives. Do it first, every stage.
2. Click the grey thing that wobbles
Juju is never coloured and never still. It is a grey object with a wobbling outline, and it can be tiny or enormous. Players who learn the tell collect Juju in passing instead of farming them.
3. Read the object description out loud
Every found object gives you a line — "A valuable compass. Got snatched after a fight with a bunch of rude sailors." The line names a place, a person or a sequence, and reading it is faster than clicking around.
4. Finish the optional line before the main objective
The main objective advances dialogue, and dialogue can close interaction windows. Do the side quest first: the achievement requires 100% of the request, and the most common reason a stage sits at 90% is an optional chain that was never triggered.
5. Take the hint, then search by hand
A hint marks an area, not the object. Take one, look at what it marks, then search that area by hand. Two hints in a row on the same area is how players burn through the global total of 825,158.
6. Turn the brightness up for the graveyard
Love After Life is genuinely dark. The brightness and contrast sliders were added in 1.0.7 and they change object visibility far more than they change the mood. If you are squinting at headstones, it is a setting.
7. Keep a manual save before every stage
Save slots arrived in 1.0.7. A manual save before a stage means a missed side quest costs you one re-entry rather than a full replay from an earlier point. This is also the workaround for the rare save-state bugs that have appeared across patches.
8. Skip the cutscenes you have already seen
The skip button came in 1.0.8; 1.1.3 added "skip all". If you are replaying a stage for a missing object, skipping the dialogue is free time — the dialogue history keeps the lines.
9. Check your build number before you blame the game
1.2.1 fixed a soft lock in Love After Life and a To-do UI bug that made the panel fail to open after a quest unlock. Both look exactly like "the stage is broken". Steam updates automatically, but an offline week can leave you on 1.2.0.
10. Treat the Kit Shop as decoration and nothing else
Plum Coins buy furniture for Ducky's Room. There is no stat bonus, no hint discount, no gameplay unlock, and no achievement attached. If you are playing for completion, skip the shop until the story is done.
The tips at a glance
| Tip | Time saved per stage | Why it works |
|---|---|---|
| Perimeter sweep first | 2–4 minutes | Small objects sit at composition edges |
| Learn the Juju tell | 1–2 minutes | Stops dedicated Juju hunts |
| Read descriptions | 1–3 minutes | The text names the location |
| Side quest before main | One full re-entry | Dialogue can close optional windows |
| One hint, then hand-search | 2–5 minutes | Hints mark areas, not objects |
| Brightness up in the dark stage | 3–5 minutes | Visibility, not difficulty |
| Manual save before a stage | One replay | Cheap insurance |
| Skip seen cutscenes | 1–2 minutes | No information lost |
| Check the build number | A whole session | Some "bugs" are old builds |
| Ignore the Kit Shop | 5+ minutes | Cosmetic only |
The three objects players struggle with most
Bit Egg's 100-day infographic named the hardest items to find across all players: the sword in The Cursed Memento (Manga Studio), the towel in Playtime at Kenta's (Kenta's House), and the underpants, also in The Cursed Memento (Manga Studio). Two of the three are in the same stage.
A sword, a towel and a pair of underpants all belong in a specific room, and all three are drawn to blend into the furniture around them. When an everyday object goes missing, check the furniture that would hold it first.
One habit that beats all ten
Leave a stage when the To-do panel is empty, not when the story beat lands. The story beat is the midpoint; the panel is the finish line. Everything above reaches that finish line with fewer re-entries.
